Yesterday was Paul and I's sixth anniversary. Six years of wedded bliss were now complete. In those six years we have faced major illness, fertility issues, an insane pregnancy, two infants, and mortgage meltdown with a sense of humor and a bond that has gotten us through more than anyone should have to deal with in just six years of marriage. That calls for a celebration right? Right? Well I think it does but that didn't happen this time around. Our anniversary was just plain inconvenient this year. Poor Paul is battling illness all while working a six day work week which included some 12 hour shifts. I have been in the middle of a massive three day headache and extreme exhaustion from lord knows what. Not to mention I would have completely forgotten our anniversary if it weren't for an email reminder on my twin board. I guess that is what happens when you are too busy with life to keep track of what the date is. Luckily Paul was not at all prepared for our anniversary either. So it was decided to just do nothing. Pathetic huh? No cards. No presents. I opted to cook manicotti so at least we weren't eating mac and cheese for our anniversary dinner. Paul says he went around town looking for flowers but was shocked when all the florists were closed on a Sunday. Oh well. A for effort I guess. We ended up eating, bathing the manicotti off the kids, and passing out early. Aren't we a romantic couple? We may get to go to dinner on Tuesday depending on a friend's schedule. That would be nice. I think we both need a break and time to relax. Relaxation. What a concept...

Happy anniversary! Sounds like the perfect evening to me! That is much like how our last 3 anniversaries went! lol Delaney's B-day is just 5 days before our anniversary, so we are over shadowed by her!
Happy Anniversary! I agree with terri, sounds just perfect to me (minus the illness and headaches. UGH!) I would judt prefer staying in and having a nice dinner by candlelight....
Happy Anniversary (again)! Your anniversary "celebration" sounds familiar to ours, lol! Hope you get to go out Tuesday night and have a great evening together :)
Happy Anniversary
I hope you were able to go out on Tuesday night! It sounds like what we will be doing on our anniversary! As long as you are together that's all that matters. Romance and anniversaries are over-rated anyway, it's the little everyday things in life that matter the most! Congrats to six years and many more in the future!
