Yesterday I looked out Ben's window and I saw snow! No, not in our front yard. Lets not be silly. This is, after all, the same place that allowed me to take my tshirt wearing kids to the beach in December. It was covering the mountains near our home! We live very close to Saddleback Mountain. It is only about 4000 feet high so it very rarely gets substantial snow. It was so nice to look out the window and see palm trees and snow in the same view. Much of the high desert was also deep in snow. More snow than they have seen in many, many years. I know for many of you snow is a common occurrence but for us in Southern California it is anything but. The fact that this storm hit so close to Christmas only adds to the excitement! And so without further ado I give you snow in the OC....

how cool Sharlene! It has snowed a bunch here, and we usually don't get much either. The kids missed 3 school days and everything. I haven't posted the pictures yet, but I will.
Hey you have to check out this post. http://ourhallfamily.blogspot.com/2008/12/getting-christmas-trees.html
With you love of the beautiful outdoors and giving your children experiences to remember forever, I thought you would like this one.
Holy cow Shar! That is quite a zoom lens you have there :)
I can't believe you can see snow in s cal, but I have none in NJ! WHAAAAAAA!
Gorgeous shots.
As we were driving up the 15 toward the Wild Animal Park this afternoon we could see snow on the mountains way up north. It looked so pretty with the sun shining down too.
beautiful pics!
Beautiful photos, Shar! Here in SoCal, I'll take snow wherever I can get it, even if I do have to see it from a distance in the mountains!
